아이들은 경쟁보다는 재미를 위해 운동을 해야 한다.

Some people think that children should play sports just for fun. However, in my opinion, sports are a good way for children to learn the value of competition. This is because sports inspire kids to give their best effort and help them to develop life skills for success.

일부 사람들은 아이들이 단지 재미를 위해 운동을 해야 한다고 생각한다. 그러나, 내 생각에, 스포츠는 아이들이 경쟁의 가치를 배울 수 있는 좋은 길이다. 이는 스포츠가 아이들이 최선을 다하도록 자극하고, 그들이 인생에서 성공할 수 있도록 하는 인생 기술을 발전시키도록 돕기 때문이다.

To begin with, competitive sports teach kids that it's always important to do their best. In fact, the only way to become good at something is to try hard, even when you don't feel like it. And when you achieve good results, it gives you a sense of accomplishment. For example, I played soccer when I was a child, and our coach always pushed us to give 100 percent. Of course, sometimes it was difficult, but I always gave my best effort. Then one year our team won the city soccer tournament. Everyone on the team was extremely excited. And actually, I won the MVP award of the whole tournament. It made me feel good, and it proved to me that my hard work had paid off.

우선, 경쟁적인 스포츠는 아이들에게 최선을 다하는 것이 항상 중요하다는 것을 가르친다. 사실, 무언가를 잘할 수 있는 유일한 방법은 그것을 하고 싶지 않을 때도 열심히 노력하는 것이다. 그리고 만약 좋은 결과를 얻는다면, 성취감을 느께게 될 것이다. 예를 들어, 나는 어릴 때 축구를 했는데 코치 선생님은 항상 우리에게 100퍼센트 최선을 다하라고 독려하였다. 당연히 가끔은 그것이 어려웠지만, 나느 항상 최선을 다했다. 그러던 어느 해 우리 팀은 시 축구 대회에서 우승했다. 팀의 모든 이들은 엄청 흥분했다. 그리고 사실 나는 대회 전체의 MVP를 수상하였다. 나는 기분이 좋았고, 그것은 내 힘든 노력이 결실을 맺었음을 보여주었다.

On top of that, children who participate in competitive sports acquire abilities that can help them succeed in life. According to the National Collegiate Athletic Association, people who are good at sports are more likely to become a leader and valued members at school or work, and this helps them to be more successful in life. In fact, It's no coincidence that there are numerous words that are common in sports and the real world. After all, the head of a baseball team is called the manager just like in business. And when people work well with others, we frequently say that they are team players. The ability to lead or operate effectively in a team environment is crucial for success in virtually every career, so it's clear that the same traits which make a person good at sports can make them succeed in the real world.

게다가, 경쟁적 스포츠에 참여하는 아이들은 인생에서 성공할 수 있도록 하는 능력을 얻는다. 국가 대학 운동 협회에 따르면, 스포츠를 잘하는 사람들은 학교나 직장에서 리더나 가치 있는 일원이 될 가능성이 더 높으며, 이는 이들이 인생에서 더 성공하도록 돕는다. 사실, 스포츠와 현실 세계에서 동시에 공통으로 쓰이는 단어가 많다는 것은 우연이 아니다. 어쨌든 야구팀의 수장은 비즈니스에서처럼 매니저라고 불린다. 그리고 사람들이 다른 사람들과 함께 협업을 잘하는 경우, 우리는 자주 그들을 팀 플레이러라고 부르곤 한다. 팀 환경에서 잘 이끌거나 일을 효과적으로 하는 능력은 사실상 모든 직업군에서 필수적이므로, 사람이 스포츠를 잘할 수 있도록 만드는 것과 동일한 특성이 현실 세계에서도 성공할 수 있도록 만들어주는 것이 분명하다.

To sum up, competitive sports direct children to aspire to do as well as they can, and they foster talents that can lead to success. In this regard, I think it's better for children to play sports to compete rather than just for pleasure.
